In February 2021 I attended a workshop in the Blue Mountains with John Wilson who introduced me to plein air painting. Below are some of the paintings done on that workshop.

When I can I join the Plein Air Painters of Waverly (PAPOW). Organised by artist Kevin McKay, PAPOW meet on a Tuesday afternoon at a location in the eastern Suburbs of Sydney.

'Capertee Morning' was selected as a finalist for the 2023 Camberwell Art Show in Melbourne. It was painted from a plein air study painted near Glen Davis in the Capertee Vallee of New South Wales.

In autumn of 2022 and 2023 I attended a two week Artists Camp and workshop at Stump Hill near Mansfield, organised by Kasey Sealy. There are plenty of good subjects and great fun around the campfire at night.
I received a Highly Commended from guest judge Jane Wray at St George Art Society critique night for this small plein air painting of Broken River done at Stump Hill.
In September and October 2023 I travelled, painted and visited art galleries in France and Spain.

This painting (Mansfield Morning) was exhibited and sold in the Rural Landscape section of the 2024 Sydney Royal Easter Show Competition. I painted it in the studio from a small plein air study painted early one morning at Stump Hill near Mansfield.
This 10 x 12 plein air study was painted on an early frosty morning at Platypus Burra on the Macquarie River north of Bathurst in 2023. We did see a platypus!
I spent 7 weeks in March and April 2024 in Arizona and Utah. I took part in some plein air painting events such as Paint Arizona Day, Casa Grande on Canvas and paint with the Sonoran Plein Air Painters at Agua Caliente in Tucson. I was also fortunate to attend two five day workshops at Scottsdale Artists School with Camille Przwodek and Mitch Baird.
