Profile

I started painting and drawing as a child with my grandfather Harold Boyd in Enmore.

I began my career as a geologist working in remote parts of Australia and the world, then ran a small business for 20 years in St Peters until I retired from full time work three years ago.

I had always envisaged that I would take up painting again when I retired. I began attending drawing and painting classes at the Royal Art Society of NSW and workshops at Julian Ashton Art School. I have attended watercolour workshops with John Haycraft and Chan Dissanayake, oil painting workshops with Sally Ryan (figurative), Tim Miller (landscape), John Perkins (landscape) and John Wilson (landscape), Kasey Sealy (landscape), Ben Winspear (landscape) and Colley Whisson (landscape). I attend weekly plein air painting sessions with PAPOW (Plein Air Painters of Waverley). I regularly attend life drawing groups.
